The hunter shot me

Today's meal:

Tri-colour fusilli with peas and carrots. The ingredients claim that the orange and green colours come from tomato and spinach powder. Hmmmm. Wonder if they really can do that.

Last night I was treated to a spotless night sky. I have not had the chance to see the stars much here, so I stood gazing at the sky. What a treat. I did not search for familiar constellations as I did when back home, because I was certain that I wouldn't see them here. But there he was! Orion shot me down in just a few moments! The orientation of the constellation looks different although I am not sure if that makes sense.

Small Favours

Today's meal:

Chapatis and dal. I think I have now managed to formulate a really good way of making chapati dough. Initially they were coming out very hard and tough to chew. Today, they were very soft.

I spent most of this afternoon with the sun shining down on me and felt at peace with the whole world. While feeling this peaceful and happy feeling, I looked outside my window to see this wonderful sight. Last night's cracker display, which was pretty good by the way, had left behind a lot of paper and rubbish. There were a bunch of kids who were picking up all that rubbish. A little later I saw a really old man, maybe in his late seventies or eighties, searching for and picking up paper from the ground and dropping it into a bag. He spent at least 10 minutes doing that and quite much filled this shopping bag. I do know many people who wouldn't spend that much time cleaning their own homes and I can't help but think of the mess we leave behind for the municipality's cleaning crew to take out after our Diwali blast.
