Here you go

Most interesting of last week:

Some more greens: spinach and lentils cooked with onions and a sprinkle of chili powder, eaten with rice. Delightfully delicious meal.

Quick and easy: Rice fried with red bell pepper and freshly ground black pepper. Eaten with sliced onions and tomatoes.

French bread (baguette) and some kind of a "stew" with potatoes, capsicum and a paste of onions, tomatoes and garlic with the help of our newest addition:

Blender! Hurray!

Greens and purple

Today's meal:

Lettuce cooked with salt and freshly ground pepper. Rice, chili powder and salt, fried with onions. Fun! I must research some other kinds of greens.

Most interesting of last week

An attempt at making cutlets. Boiled potatoes mashed with a slice of bread, rolled into patties and shallowed fried in oil. I have no idea what the actual stuff is made of or how.

An attempt at making carrot halwa. It turned out a little like kheer with carrots. Reason: I poured in too much milk. I got the recipe from my mom, but did not get quantities. All the same, it tasted great! I was so proud of myself.

Fried rice with carrots, cabbage, spring onions and sprouted beans. Nothing extraordinary, the colours are interesting. I recently discovered washed and cut vegetables in a packet at the supermarket meant for pan-fried dishes.

Summer is here in full swing and it is unbelievable. Some cool curd rice, garnished with mustard and red chilies. With mashed potato fry. Roadway to heaven.

In my eight months of cooking here, I have never once had to deal with stale or spoilt food. Always finish my food in one meal, which means that I cook just enough for one meal. More reason for pride. Pat yourself on the back for little victories and solo-cooking becomes a little less monotonous.
